Love the colours of your painting, the shadows and the composition with the figure (you?) looking down at the chicken.
We once bought a dozen brown shaver chickens at "end of lay" from an egg farm. Poor things were in quite a state, but they became strong and had a nice life free ranging on our place. One of them outlived all the others, and would come all the way up to the house, and hang around like she enjoyed the children's company - she was named Rosie (not very original...a favourite storybook). It was sad when she finally died.
Thanks Sandra! I'm new to blogging so this is all a bit weird - feel like I'm trying to write with the 'wrong' hand or something! Chooks are great - that's so cool you could rehabilitate some egg farm girls. Rosie's more original than our Spotty, Brownie, Fluffy etc. We heard so many horrible stories about all the diseases chooks can get, that they didn't get better names because we didn't want to get too attached to them!
